Pure Box: Water Scarcity Makeathon Dubai, 2022

The problem: there are more than 450 million kids our age who don’t have access to clean water, and we believe that clean water shouldn’t be a privilege.

Solution: We invented a cube-shaped machine, equipped with a paper filter, a boiling area, and a storage area to purify water.

Our high-quality filter paper will remove solids, for example rocks or sand, while the boiling area will remove the harmful chemicals and bacteria that make the water unsafe like pesticides or chlorine.The cap of our box serves as the filter and will remove large solids.

We made our box using aluminium which is lightweight and flexible so it is easier to carry around. In addition, aluminum is one of the most environmentally friendly metals as it can be recycled infinitely to produce the same product. It also can hold a lot of water without spillage, therefore helping our consumers in their daily life.
